What's the problem with rivals?

Half the time now when I try to bring up the board, or for example try and check out commitment lists, I get a message: "Your account has an invalid email address, Please update it here." In the first place, my email address ISN'T INVALID! It's the same one I've had for years, and the entire time I've been on CSR. And even if it was, THERE'S NO PLACE TO UPDATE IT ON THAT PAGE. And trying to contact them is a real zoo. You can't just email them; you have to jump through a bunch of hoops. So Ben, please tell them to make it easy to contact them, for example by having an accessable email address, and that my email isn't invalid. The current situation is very frustrating.

2022-23 Capital One Cup - I think the Men won!

As mentioned in the Director's Cup thread, the women finished in 2nd behind Texas just 3 points back. If women's golf performed to their expectations, they would have won. Texas women got the cup by their performance at T&F.

The men were in 6th after placing a remarkable 3rd place at Track & Field 15 behind #1 Georgia. The last remaining sport is baseball worth triple the points of most of the sports and none of the five teams above Stanford made it to the Super Regionals and of course, the CWS. There were only two other contending teams in the college baseball championships, TCU and Virginia. Points for baseball are determined by the USA Today/ESPN/College Coaches final rankings. The baseball poll released today, has Stanford ranked 5th, Virginia 6th and TCU 7th. Based on this preliminary total, Stanford should earn 15 points and take over the top spot from Georgia and should win the Men's Capital One Cup and $500,000. Stanford women have won the most Capital One Cups with 7 and the men will win their 4th, the most of any men's D1 programs

Projected standings

Good Pitching beats Good Hitting

Incredible game between LSU and Wake Forest which LSU won 2-0 in the 11th on a 2 run homer. Game was 0-0 all the way until then with a handful of hits. Both teams have excellent hitters but Skenes for LSU and Lowder for Wake (who we scored 2 against and chase early) were nails for 8 innings followed by strong relievers. It's a truism that good pitching beats good hitting and this game demonstrated it. I was not surprised that LSU came out of the losers bracket to advance to the finals as I picked LSU to win it all. It's a shame that IMO our bracket had the 4 best teams of the 8 at the CWS. I think that we were the 4th best,, maybe the 3rd best team.

Stanford WVB Television Coverage?

I am happy to see that we get to move on from Stanford basketball and baseball to another outstanding team – – women’s volleyball. The posts have been fascinating.

Where will we find full WVB television coverage? Has the Pac 12 network vaporized or will it provide coverage until regionals?. Is Sling still the only platform for full access to Pac12 network?

Thanks.

Brody Malone's knee

Brody posted about his injuries on instagram. Fracture (not sure which bone), torn cartilage, 2 or 3 torn ligaments. More surgery coming.

The gymnasts I've spoken to say he must have lost air awareness when he came off the bar. Most gymnasts would have curled into a ball when they realized they were headed in the wrong direction after a release from the bar. They certainly wouldn't have kept their knees locked.

Most coaches think his career in gymnastics is over. Hope not but this will be tough.
