Change of Pace - World Cup

Nobody has mentioned this, no doubt because you're all haters who only focus on the negative, but our very own Jordan Morris is the first Cardinal man to ever be named to the USMNT World Cup roster. His selection was very much in doubt, as he's overcome two ACL tears in the past five years. Had the US made the last WC, he would have featured if healthy. Now he's a late game speed and energy sub, but just making the squad is a massive achievement. He led us to our first national title with two goals in the championship match, including the game winner, and he won the Hermann Trophy as player of the year. Can't wait to root for him and the team in a week (as well as our awesome Cardinal squads in their respective tournaments). Some fun videos:

Men's Hoops: San Diego State comes to Maples Tues Nov 15th 6PM tipoff, TV: Pac12 channel

San Diego St ranked #19, now 2-0 beating Fullerton & BYU
Bradley, who transferred to SDSU from Cal 2 years ago still playing. And has two bigs that are really good: Would be a very tough win for us.

I have to take our kids to a extracurricular event meeting tomorrow night so my tickets for the Stanford/SDSU game are up for grabs for free to a good home. Last row of the "Loge" section, Section 1, behind Stanford's bench.

Send me a message if interested so I can get them to you before tomorrow night's tilt at 6pm!

I really have only one question . . .

How does David Shaw sleep at night?

He has been stealing millions upon millions of dollars from Stanford University for the last several years, which in most people would cause great anxiety and guilt. The theft is bad, but perhaps overlook-able, given how much $$ the university has.

But WAY more troubling is his utter and complete failure to hold up his end of the bargain with the kids he recruits, who are owed SO MUCH MORE than the $hit David Shaw is shoveling (and has been shoveling for the last 5 years).

I guess he's able to sleep at night by counting shee . . . ERRR the zeroes in his bank account. Sad. Pathetic. Disgusting. Anger-inducing. vomit-worthy. You name it.

As stated previously, if dude had any honor or decency, he’d announce his retirement from coaching . . . this week.

And if Muir had anything resembling balls, he'd fire Shaw if he did not announce his retirement . . . this week.

Maintenance scheduled on the boards Monday, November 14th: 10 PM PST to 2:00 AM PT

Just a quick heads up: Rivals will be doing scheduled maintenance on the boards from 10:00 PM PT to 2:00 AM PT on Monday, November 14th/Tuesday, November 15th. During those four hours. And each board is expected to have a 30 minute period where they aren't accessible. So if anyone tries to access during those times and can't for a certain period of time, that's why.

How do we as fans get Shaw fired???

If nobody renewed season tickets would that matter? I have been a season ticket holder since 1989, but will NOT renew if Shaw is still the head coach. And I will email Muir telling him that.

Would not attending the BYU game and having an even smaller crowd make a difference? Or am I better off going again wearing my “Defund Shaw” t-shirt?

Should we rally with signs in front of Muir’s house or the President’s house?

Fans have to have some influence. I stopped giving money to anything Stanford until Shaw is gone two years ago. Maybe that would help if everyone else on this site did that.

Suggestions?

PAC-12

Two observations. First, Pac-12 is no longer the bottom scraper of FBS. Lincoln Riley, Oregon’s resurgence, generally some quality teams. Second, there are basically two levels of teams: ranked teams and bottom feeders.

USC and UCLA are of course part of that improvement so some of this is temporary. I wonder what Riley is thinking now that he is going to be back in the mix with the Big-10? No easy path through tOSU/Michigan/whoever else is hot.

Difference in Game Management

Has Shaw ever faked a punt in a dozen seasons?

Has he ever gone for it on 4th and short from his own 34 in the first quarter?

Has he ever gone for it on 4th and long from just outside his kicker’s range in the first quarter, or twice in the first half?

I know Shaw’s issues extend far beyond game management, but it must be nice to root for a coach who isn’t chickenbleep. Or play for one.

An ugly positive from last night...

While attempting to fill an overall boring second half... I feel the broadcasters last night used the entire second half to dissect and basically crucify Stanford and Shaw's football program. I got the impression that they 'tipped-toed' into the pool of 'criticizing' the program & Shaw in the middle of the 3rd, but by the end of the 4th they had been able to dissect Shaw's years and Stanford's future problems (not accepting transfer's) in detail. Even I was getting uncomfortable by the end of the game with their continual crushing criticism of the programs downfall and questionable future... even though I am a supporter of this needed collapse to get Shaw replaced, it was hard to hear constantly.

SI calls for Shaw to be fired if blown out by Utah

Author clearly doesn't understand Stanford, as there's no way they're firing Shaw before end of season, even if we lose 100-0, but this is the 3rd major article in the last 10 days about how we suck and need to do something about it,
