I mentioned Derek Stingley Jr. as a possibility a couple months ago. The Rivals five star cornerback from Baton Rouge was offered today by Stanford. Duane Akina visited his high school last week. Stingley reports a 3.8 GPA and appears to have genuine interest in Stanford. Stanford will have a lot of work to do here with the class' No. 11 overall prospect to catch up to the relationships he has with other coaches. Of course, step No. 1 will be getting him to visit. Maybe Justin Reid can be to Stingley what Solomon Thomas was to Walker Little -- a native son who can speak to a five star about the benefits of taking the less traveled path.
