Just mind-boggling.
Scott apparently believes that doing nothing for 8 more years could potentially maximize the long-term value of the network, and the Presidents have not challenged that view. Hard to believe that DirecTV would be unwilling to do an 8-year deal. Not dealing with DirecTV in the interim only seems to make sense if Scott intends to put the Pac-12 Network into OTT distribution (e.g. - SlingTV, Sony's Playstation Vue, Amazon Video, Netflix, and/or Hulu) soon. In any event, Wilner did not do a good job of flushing out Scott's strategy here.
