From the Tangled Webs category, former USC (no, not U$C, the other one, in Columbia) starting QB Brandon McIlwain is transferring to Cal. He was a top dual threat QB in the class of 2016 who is also pretty good at baseball.
The Stanford connection is that McIlwain is transferring because he was beaten out for the starting spot by old friend Jake Bentley. Have to feel bad for the kid, as he enrolled early, only to see Bentley reclassify and join him in the same class. Of course, Bentley's dad is an offensive coach for Coach Muschamp as well.
