Caught up with 2018 QB Jack West last night for an update. Jack will be taking one of the longer visits I can recall - he'll spend a week on campus in June taking in the sights. He'll also participate in camp.

Jack is clearly a pretty special individual - there's a reason why he was the first player in his class to receive a Stanford offer. And this visit could go a long way toward cementing Stanford's standing. But Alabama is a threat, and Stanford is approaching 2018 QB recruiting in a somewhat similar fashion to previous years to ensure they land a top signal caller. They're still trying to get as many top quarterbacks to camp as possible. I don't have a list of expected attendees yet, but Colson Yankoff, Cade Fortin and Jack Tuttle have all visited and are probably strong bets for camp. (Yankoff and Fortin camped last year; I know Yankoff will return, not sure about Fortin.) I honestly haven't done any digging (yet) on the following names, but Allan Walters (from Donald Stewart's HS), Jacob Sirmon, Cameron Rising, Adrian Martinez are connected to at least one coach (or GA in the case of Rising/Martinez) on Twitter. So it will be once again interesting to observe the QB camp.
But as evidenced by the early offer (still one of only two Stanford extended in 2018), Jack's visits to campus and the relationship he has already developed with the Cardinal coaching staff, he's clearly a high priority and someone who is a good fit for the program.
