Took first, four strokes ahead of UCLA.
Ziyi Wang led the team with a -7. Andrea Lee was -3 and tied for 8th. Mika Liu finished even, Albane was +2 and Shannon was +9. Wang finished 2nd, one stroke behind Tavatanakit of UCLA.
The six teams moving on are Stanford, UCLA, Ole Miss, Louisville, Kent State and Colorado. Kal and Oregon were also in this regional.
Ole Miss and Louisville beat out higher seeds like South Carolina, North Carolina and Oklahoma State.
From the Austin Regional, moving on are Arkansas, Texas, Auburn, Florida, Baylor and Oklahoma.
From the Tallahassee Regional, moving on are Alabama, Florida State, Furman, Arizona. Washington, and Wake Forest. WF beat Clemson in a playoff when both teams finished tied for 6th.
Moving on from the Madison Region are Duke, Virginia, Southern Cal, Arizona State, Ohio State and Northwestern. .
It will be a very top heavy championship May 13-23 at Karsten Creek Golf Club, in Stillwater, Oklahoma, hosted by Oklahoma State University. Speaking of Oklahoma State, they were ranked 17 but missed the cut at Harding. Only one top 10 team didn't make the next round, South Carolina (#9). The only other top 20 teams not to make it were Illinois (#20) and Michigan State (#11)
The 24 teams will play stroke play for the first three days and the top 8 teams will be seeded into match play. Coach Walker has a reputation for being one of the best Match Play coaches, something that most college teams have little experience with, although better players experience it during the US and US Junior Amateur if they make it past stroke play.
By the way, this was Stanford's first victory of the season. Let's make two in a row! Go Stanford!!!
