Wheels are falling off a bit in Eugene. Oregon this year reminds me a bit of Stanford in 2012 - generational QB (Luck/Mariota) departs to the NFL, and the program really struggles at the QB position. One major difference is that Oregon does not have the best defense in the conference like the Cardinal did in 2012. They might actually have one of the worst. Oregon will get a boost once Vernon Adams returns from injury (somewhat analogous to Hogan stepping in... though that's a bit of a stretch - Adams played earlier this year before being forced out due to injury), whenever that is, but the Ducks already have three losses and face an uphill battle in the conference.
On the other hand, beating Washington State in Pullman won't be a walk in the park. They're clearly a flawed team, but Falk can throw it and they have some weapons. But I suspect today's result (in Eugene, no less) probably reflects more on Oregon's issues than anything else.
