In one of the most highly anticipated announcements in recent Stanford recruiting history, five star offensive tackle Walker Little chose Stanford over Texas. The No. 25 overall recruit is an elite left tackle prospect who has been a top target for the Cardinal ever since this recruiting cycle got going.

Stanford was considered a leader for Little going back to the spring and the Cardinal held off Texas as the Longhorns made a push with the new coaching staff led by Tom Herman. Little connected with many of Stanford's top 2017 recruits when he visited Sept. 17 for the USC game, including the quarterback he may be protecting on the field (Davis Mills) and Foster Sarell, the fellow elite tackle who may book-end a dominant line with Little at some point in the future.

Normally the commitment of a tackle of Little's caliber would eliminate the possibility of landing Sarell, who is the No. 3 overall recruit according to Rivals. But that is not the case in this situation, which makes Little's commitment all the more exciting for Stanford fans. Not only is the Texan an immensely talented player, but he may be the start of an excellent close to the 2017 class by Stanford.

Stay tuned for more coverage of Little's decision.
