I say Go Bears, for the following reasons. I'd be interested in knowing why it should be Go Utes.
- Winning the Pac-12 North accomplished by beating Cal. Of course, if we lose to UCLA a Cal loss would be just the thing. I'm figuring Oregon, UCLA and/or USC beats Cal to provide another loss.
- We don't generally recruit against Cal save to poach. Almost as likely to recruit against Utah.
- In recruiting, a waxing Cal affects Oregon most adversely. That's good.
- The greatest enemy for Stanford is fan interest. A resurgent Cal will bring latent Cal fans out of the woodwork. The Bay Area becomes more a college football region. Cal vs. Stanford becomes a big deal. Non-Stanford affiliated fans are developed just by residence in Peninsula and South Bay.
