Stanford swept Cal and set up the massively important week against the visiting mountain schools. Stanford led by as many as 19 but Cal's three-point shooting in the last couple minutes created the illusion of drama in a game that otherwise Stanford was in control of — leading for all of 2:13 of game time.

Bryce Wills made his return in the win and head coach Jerod Haase tinkered with the lineups to integrate the elite defender. He flashed the skills that are so jaw-dropping special and it's going to be a process to get him back up to speed.

Oscar da Silva led the Cardinal with 23 points and it was very difficult for Cal to stop him from getting to the basket. He also has been much better of late with taking care of the ball.

His Lithuanian sidekick looks very comfortable in his role as a gritty rebounder, defender and opportunistic scorer. He had a career high 12 points.

The crew looked best with Michael O'Connell in charge and he was one of four Cardinal in double figures. O'Connell also had nine rebounds to go with his 11 points on only five shot attempts. He had three turnovers but helped balance the scales with two steals. Stanford only had 11 turnovers.
