Does anyone else find it somewhat ironic that some NFL-bound players will opt out of a chance to play one last time with their teammates and coaches in a destination bowl game over the Holidays, only to turn around a month later and play in essentially a scrimmage with random players in Mobile Alabama?

I get that there is a concentrated group of NFL personnel at the Senior Bowl, but its not as if there are no NFL scouts at Bowl Games. You could also argue there is more injury risk in the Senior Bowl because these guys havent played in 2 months and are playing with random players they have never played with before.

Just a funny concept to me

Gator Bowl with all my teammates and coaches, in front of family and friends? Oh no way, I could get hurt!

Senior Bowl in an empty Mobile Alabama stadium in February with other random players I don't know? Oh yes, let's lace em up!
