D1 Baseball is calling him the #7 LHP national pitching prospect. As they say in the article, control is still an issue but he is trending in the right direction - 6-1, 2.72 with 71 strikeouts and 35 walks in 39.2 innings. That strikeout rate is over the top - he is at 1.81 SO/inning, and the next best of the top 11 prospects they list is AZ State pitcher Ross Dunn, who was at 1.60 SO/inning, which they call incredible. Bruno is uneven, of course, but when he is locked in he smokes everybody. Maybe next season he gets the consistency going and we will have a lights out guy. Not sure if he stays in the pen - likely depends on others making strides.
OT, but I wonder if moving Mathews to the pen hurt his draft stock. I would think not - Little did fine in the draft - but curious on that.
