Stanford picked #23. They talk about "seven starters on defense" we'll need to replace. Yet they have Ohio State as #5 despite 12 players lost to draft and a couple more undrafted underclassmen who declared. Clearly they get the benefit of the doubt and Stanford doesn't.
Oregon, who lost their mojo with VD and Buckner, is picked #17: "They're still going to be fast, they're still going to be dangerous, and they're still going to be a matchup problem." I guess Stanford won't still be dangerous or a matchup problem. Not like McCaffrey will do any damage or the Love/McCaffrey combo will cause matchup issues.
This after a season ending at #3 (corrected). You'd think the press would wise up after predicting catastrophe for so many seasons as we lost key players.
