As a huge football fan deeply troubled by all the evidence of long-term adverse health impacts of playing the game, I was nauseous reading this article:

Sickening that this snake oil salesman bamboozled so many people, has caused so much heartache among parents who let their kids play without knowledge of the risks, and has profited so much from irresponsible exaggeration. But the issue of brain disease caused by contact sports is nonetheless deadly serious and the greatest tragedy is that Omalu’s unmasking will partly discredit a field that will save lives and doesn’t need people doubting it.
Curious what neuro experts think. Is the article fair? Am I overreacting?
