Curtis Robinson and Jordan Perez: "We'll know more next week. We're letting everything calm down and he's doing a lot of rehab. He and Jordan Perez are getting checked out this week coming up, so we'll have an idea where they are."
Joey Alfieri: We just kept him out today. He was a little sore. It was nothing to do with his shoulder. He should be full go again in two days.
Dalyn Wade-Perry: "Hopefully by the end of next week -- getting close but not quite there, yet."
Brandon Fanaika: "Fanaika is about like Dalyn, probably late next week."
Jesse Burkett: "Jesse may take a little bit longer. We hope he has turned the corner a little bit. He's able to do some things now he couldn't do a week ago. I'm excited about the prognosis. He's not out in pads or with the team but he's doing a lot of work inside. Hopefully we'll get him early in the season."

Scrimmage Notes

Stanford's offense scored one touchdown and two field goals during the scrimmage Sunday open to the public. One field was missed but there was a second pair of uprights put in between the regulation ones to make it more difficult.

The highlights:
-- Drew Dalman "started" at center and got a lot of snaps there. When Brian Chaffin came in Dalman got work at right guard. Foster Sarell played both tackle spots and left guard. Devery Hamilton played a similar role but more guard compared to more tackle for Sarell. Henry Hattis rotated often between right and left tackle. Chaffin, Walker Little and Nate Herbig each only played one position.

Offensive linemen Brandon Fanaika, Nick Wilson, Dylan Powell, Trey Stratford and walk-on Grant Pease did not participate.

-- KJ Costello's best throw was a tight fit in stride to JJ Arcega-Whiteside and JJAW scooted away from the defensive backs for a touchdown. It was impressive on both ends of the play and the protection was great to give Costello time to deliver a ball downfield.
-- It was great to Davis Mills out there, looking comfortable and delivering some nice balls. He is in control when he's moving around back there and seems compact with his delivery. He led a drive down field that ended in a field goal.
-- Gabe Reid had a couple nice plays, including decisively beating AT Hall with an inside move for a sack.
-- Colby Parkinson made several nice plays over the middle of the field, is noticeably bigger and moves very well. The way the day worked out he was by far the most productive tight end. Scooter Harrington also caught a pass. I did not see Tucker Fisk.
-- With Alijah Holder out today, Paulson Adebo and Alameen Murphy started. Malik Antoine and Frank Buncom were at safety. I believe Antoine was the first to move to nickel but I may have missed someone else. Obi Eboh was, I believe, the fourth defensive back with Holder out. But there were a lot of substitutions. The best DB play was Treyjohn Butler locking down Connor Wedington on a deep route and knocking the ball away.
-- The run game struggled to get going and Bryce Love didn't get any carries. Cameron Scarlett only made a brief appearance. Trevor Speights didn't get much going and Dorian Maddox had a couple nice little runs. Justus Woods also had a couple solid runs but no one broke one out of the 10-yard box.
-- Jovan Swann, Mike Williams and Dylan Jackson were the defensive line starters with Dalyn Wade-Perry out until probably the end of next week. Ryan Johnson arrived late and was not dressed. Thomas Booker got some reps and seemed to be in position to fight for a spot on the two-deep.
-- Sean Barton and Bobby Okereke were on the field for the first several series and Barton was moving well.
-- Michael Wilson and Simi Fehoko are big athletes. Wilson caught a bubble screen, powered forward for nine yards and four defenders brought him down. They look very comfortable in drills and Fehoko looks his listed 6-4 and then some. Osiris St. Brown didn't get into the action in the scrimmage but looked fine in drills.
-- Ricky Miezan and Andres Fox both flashed their athleticism on the final series for the young guys. Fox blew up two straight plays and got a little chatty with Devery Hamilton. He doesn't lack confidence. He also doesn't really know what he's doing schematically, according to Lance, but he's a great athlete. Miezan is in a similar boat and he made a couple impressive tackles after covering distance. He already looks the part.
