I'm going to throw out for consideration that perhaps Muir is not an empty suit after all.

Taking an approach that the proof is in the results, I'd say the actual results are excellent. Last year he reportedly told Shaw to make changes and Shaw declined. So OK, Shaw gets one year to clean up his act. This year everyone's crying for Shaw's head (i.e. he got a year of grace for having the track record and the intangibles; hard case to fire him last year) and a now we have perfect execution of Shaw's exit.

Just saying that despite all the optics that he seems asleep at the wheel, the actual results are good. His low key style at the presser suggests he may play things close to the vest and public remarks are intentionally empty or vague.

Of course the next and most important phase is the one that will really matter, but if he pulls it off and hires a really promising coach, I suggest we might need to reconsider him. Just a musing as we enter into this next important week or so. This is the big time show that he gets paid for. So far so good...
