Hey guys, I just caught up with 2023 4-star defensive end Enow Etta. He visited for the March Junior Day. Stanford has made his top list. Below are key quotes. The rest will be saved for the article.
On why Stanford made his list: "At the end of the day, with Stanford, not only the football, but the world renowned degree. It was really a no-brainer."
On how Stanford wants to use him: "I mean, as far as I know, they would love to use me as an edge. They feel I would fit well into the scheme that they are trying to build. At least as far as I’ve been told. As far as I know, I have the grades. The offer came late because the admissions had to see I had the grades. So they were good with it."
What he's looking for in a program: "Well first off, a place with great football and a great degree. And then secondly, a place where if I wasn’t playing football, I would still want to go to the college. Like if I was hurt and I had to stop playing football, I would still want to attend the college because of what it could do for me."
Junior Day highlight: "Definitely getting to talk to the engineering professor. That was really big because that’s something I wanna do. I wanna be under their wing for the next three to four years. That was pretty big for me."
What he wants to major in: "Either mechanical engineering or computer science engineering. It’s really hands on. I’ve always loved engineering. My grandfather was an engineer. I’ve been dealing with technology from a young age. I was in robotics club and also it pretty much the same, but Lego robotics and all that stuff."
Decision timeline: "Definitely August before school starts. After all my official visits."
