Hey guys, I just caught up with 2023 4-star OL Connor Stroh about his visit to Stanford earlier this month and subsequent offer. I thought it was interesting that Stanford is looking at him to possibly play guard. Below are key quotes. The rest will be saved for the article.
On the visit as a whole: "They put on a great visit. I had a great time. The campus was really beautiful. I got a good tour of the campus. I got to learn about their admissions, NIL, and just like their program in general."
On Stanford's main pitch to him: "It’s really about how I’ll be able to succeed as a scholar as well as a football player. They like how I block, how I move, and stuff."
On Coach Heffernan and meeting with him: "I got to know him during the visit. He’s a great family man. He cares about his players. I watched some film. He showed me how my playing style compares with theirs. He told me he’d try to put me at guard if I go there."
On the chance to study at an elite school like Stanford: "It’d be really cool. I’d be excited. I think they’d give me a good chance to do stuff after football. I’ll be able to explore career options outside of football."
On which schools are on him the hardest outside of Stanford: "Texas, Auburn, Baylor, and Arkansas."
On what he's most looking for in a program: "I want to be developed into an NFL lineman and just be able to pursue my career outside of football."
On a decision timeline: "I’ll probably commit in the late summer. And then I’ll release top schools after spring."
