Updating my look at key contributor absences now that the ACC seasons are all complete. With us now being in the ACC I will add ACC seasons from this season and going forward. I recognize this is potentially starting to compare some apples and oranges (e.g., if one conference is tougher and/or experiences key contributor absences differently) but I think that's a minor complication compared to the insight of continuing to build out this data set. Every team in our conferences since 2014 ranked by number of games missed by players in their season-end top 15 for snaps on either offense or defense:

1. 2021 Washington - 61 (12 games) - 5.08

Taylor came in with a lot of talk about how he similarly inherited a situation at Sacramento State where the team had been beset by a rash of injuries in recent years and that Deatrick's approach to strength and conditioning would be part of the recipe for turning things around. Two years is too too small of a sample to be definitive about anything but so far the vision is not holding. We've had a lot of key players miss time each of the last two years. The frequency with which we are on the extreme end of the injury prevalence spectrum, under two different staffs now, makes one wonder about our players' toughness and durability. Again, small sample under Taylor. But have not beaten the injury bug yet.
