I was at Stanford during the Christensen and Walsh years. When I arrived in 1974, our football team was mediocre at best but we still managed to fill most of the old Stanford Stadium which held 30,000 or more from the current stadium. It was an event and most of the student body plus the alumni showed up for the games. Obviously the Harbaugh and early Shaw years were much different in terms of crowd and enthusiasm from the current state of affairs. So when I receive the survey from Stanford athletics asking my feelings as a season ticket holder, other than saying the atmosphere is depressing, what can you say and other than winning, can you change that atmosphere?
