I need to watch the game -- I was only able to catch brief stretches -- but my reaction from the box score and what I saw:
Head coach Jerod Haase must be very happy to have Reid Travis. The burly center finished 24 points and 17 rebounds. And despite foul trouble, Michael Humphrey added 15 points and four rebounds. There is a very good reason why Haase said the interior is the strength of the team and the ball needs to go there first on offense.
Marcus Allen, Dorian Pickens and Graant Verhoeven each with 10 points. Verhoeven! A nice night for the often injured Cardinal. And six rebounds for the Visalia native.
Sixteen assists and 11 turnovers. The Cardinal held Harvard to 37.3% shooting while hitting 46.3% of their own shots. Rebounding could be better and overall I'm sure Haase wants the defense to play much better. No matter what the shooting percentage was I don't get the sense he wants 70 points given up to a relatively young Harvard team.
