There was a ton of 7-on-7 stuff going on down in Southern California today, and a few of the events included Stanford commits/targets.

-Here's Adam Gorney's review of K.J. Costello

"Costello could throw a football through a brick wall. The Stanford commit puts such zip and pace on his passes that he has the ability to put them in tight windows and beat fast cornerbacks because they cannot react quickly enough. Arm strength has never been a question. The four-star also showed great touch on Saturday placing the ball in the corner of the end zone or putting air under it to let receivers catch up to the ball. That development in his game has been noticeable in recent tournaments."

-Gorney on Curtis Robinson (who, by the way, will be getting an enormous bump in the next set of rankings when they are released on Monday... Kaden Smith too... and several other targets got nice bumps as well... I think folks here will be quite pleased with how everything shakes out in the new rankings.)

"Maybe no player in California has had a better offseason than Robinson, and he continued it at linebacker for his Mater Dei team on Saturday. The four-star prospect covers like a defensive back and he has such length and athleticism that he's always right in the hip pocket of receivers. What the Stanford commit showed even more of Saturday was his physical play. He jammed receivers right out of the play at the line of scrimmage and made life difficult for anybody on his side of the field."

-My reporting on Dylan Crawford over the last month or two has been that when all is said and done he's not all that likely to sign with Stanford. I have no new info to share, but for those interested (and because there is still a chance that things could work out), here's Gorney's review of Crawford's performance:

"Crawford is not necessarily the fastest player in a straight line but he's a really hard route runner who cuts extremely well and creates space late in his routes. When cornerbacks try to press the four-star receiver at the line, Crawford can accelerate right by them. If space is given, Crawford sets up cornerbacks and almost always seems to be open."

-And a quick recruiting update on Crawford:

"Dylan Crawford still has a lot of love for Oregon even though the Ducks have not reciprocated recently.

The four-star receiver who recently transferred to Rancho Santa Margarita (Calif.) Santa Margarita Catholic said he wants to visit Eugene this summer and still yearns for a Ducks offer. He does admit, though, that communication between him and the coaching staff has been slow.

Other than Oregon, where Crawford believes he fits perfectly in the offense, the four-star said he definitely plans to take an official visit to Miami. That's the only one he has on his list so far but others will happen.

As for the more local schools, Crawford said UCLA stands out more than USC and that Stanford has a real shot at his commitment because Santa Margarita teammate and current Stanford commit K.J. Costello, a four-star quarterback, is a major draw to the Cardinal.

Before any decisions are made, though, Crawford said he still wants to look at Alabama and Clemson as he narrows his list."
