As noted in the other thread, I sat down with hoops coach Jerod Haase today. I have had a few interactions with some folks from the new hoops staff since they've joined Stanford, but was able to shake hands and at least say hi to basically everyone today - very impressed with the energy of the group.
I'll have a couple of longer stories up in the next week or so, but a few news items from Coach Haase:
-Christian Sanders and Grant Verhoeven will be back in 2016-2017 on scholarship.
-Stanford is still sorting out its walk-on situation - doesn't sound like anything is finalized with that.
-Here's the Robert Cartwright update:
"He's making progress. He's not cleared to play yet but he has been making progress, and I'm cautiously optimistic that he'll be back before too long."
Is there a chance he'll be ready for the season
"I think there's a very good chance."
For the season opener?
"Yeah."
-Haase said Stanford is healthy aside from Cartwright.
