The title game on Monday drew 22M viewers, third lowest since 2014. Clearly there was a lot going on Monday between the Inauguration and MLK Day, but Notre Dame and Ohio State are blue blood college programs, seemingly a home run for Networks. For reference, prior Title games have gotten over 30M viewers (2005, 2010, 2015).

Cord cutting is possibly a factor. With NIL and Transfer Portal, I suspect the 'story' is lost a little bit in College Football. Whats the story behind Notre Dame stealing Dukes QB and Ohio State stealing Kansas State's QB to win games? Is there a compelling story behind Ohio State spending $20M to compile the best roster that money can buy, many of them new to the team this year?

Hard for 'stars' to develop when they switch teams every year -- who was the biggest 'star' out there on Monday -- Jeremiah Smith who is a true Freshman?

I don't think there was a true star in CFB this year, or even in the last few years. A couple people said Travis Hunter, I'm not so sure. I am talking STARS, players that even casual fans know of -- Vince Young, Ricky Williams, Tim Tebow, Johnny Manziel, Baker Mayfield, Colt McCoy, CMC, Manti Teo, Andrew Luck, Reggie Bush, Matt Leinart.

It takes time for stardom to develop. Year over year on the same team having success. Hopefully we can get back this somehow
