Another good job, Andy. Really enjoyed the piece.

The subject of under-rated recruits has been on my mind all week, because this class has more underrated three stars--three--thnan--than in any Stanford class I've followed since 1999. Rivals three stars Justin Reid, Arcega-Whiteside, and Dylan Jackson all look like clear fours.

Interested in your comments on the other Reid, Gabe. If we were watching elite southern high school football tape, we'd have him as a clear four. Few high school DEs have his first step quickness to beat an OT inside or out, and that closing speed. But people are seeing Reid doing it against Utah HS competition, and tend to devalue it.

What makes Reid even more appealing, of course, is his big play potential.

I think it's misleading to rank as a two star any guy with true huge play potential. Tyler should be a three on his return potential alone. He is the type of returner--tiny hiting target, incredible first step and change of direction--that every guy on a punting team dreads.

One other thing strikes me about this class: The absence of obvious Plan B guy, such as we've had even in 2012. Our staff pursued on Maihen all along, as I understand, as well as Mustafa Branch (speaking of exciting prospects, with the caveat that few linebackers that short prosper in college). For that reason, this class could be the deepest we've had. Yes?
