-You feel pretty good about Stanford's chances with these three, but that might be it. There's a chance a DL without an offer could emerge at camp this month or at some point next season, and I guess Stanford still has varying degrees of hope with some of the national ranked DL like Garrett Rand, Dexter Lawrence, Rashan Gary, etc..., but I wouldn't say any of those guys are terribly likely at this point, so the best guess is that they'll end up with those three unless someone new emerges or something changes, which is always possible. Jacob Burton and Michail Carter are a few of the DL without offers who remain possibilities.

Linebacker

-Tangaloa Kaufusi: Profile link

-Stanford's linebacker recruiting is an interesting spot. Curtis Robinson is solid in every way - a terrific player, solid in his Stanford commitment, strong in the classroom, etc... But there's a lot of unknown beyond him.

I'm going out on a bit of a limb projecting Kaufusi in this class - he doesn't even have an offer yet - but he's someone who could easily end up with the Cardinal. I do believe he is LDS and plans to serve a mission, however, so he'd count to the 2018 class rather than 2016.

Stanford is still in the mix with some of their offered linebackers. My sense is they would like to add another 2016 to the mix - they will at least continue looking for one. Among the offered LB prospects, Stanford and Jeffrey McCulloch continue to build a relationship, but he's still a bit of a longshot, or at least might be considered as such until/unless he visits. The fact that he is taking some summer trips - including one to Notre Dame - but at last check didn't have anything to Stanford this summer might be a bit of a bad sign. But again, good fit, continuing conversation, so we'll see.

Chidi Okonya and new Clemson commit Tre Lamar are also both good fits and I wouldn't be shocked if Stanford got one/both on campus for an official. But I wouldn't count on it, and both are certainly longshots. Though he technically eliminated Stanford a while ago (or excluded them from his list of favorites), Lamar and Stanford had been in recent contact, but I just think the distance will be too much for both.

Jonathan Jones has Stanford in his top five and he could take an official, but he's a longshot. I guess there's a possibility Miami commit Zach McCloud is still an option, but he's not a likely one. He could take an official, but I guess I would be a bit surprised if that ends up happening. And that kind of wraps it up for the offered linebackers. I would not view Keith Simms or Caleb Kelly as terribly likely candidates, and Lamar Winston is likely done to Oregon... Brendan Ferns is good student/good player, but the distance is going to be too much, I think.

Beyond that, there's another tier of LB's who are definitely under consideration but have not yet been offered. Stanford will try to get some of those players to camp this month, and they'll continue to evaluate. I mentioned it at the time, but there really weren't any LB's that popped at Stanford's camp last month, which is unfortunate for the Cardinal - they have done a nice job of finding quality LB's at a number of previous camps - LB's like Casey Toohill, Blake Martinez, Jordan Perez and co. come to mind. Aside from possibly Kaufusi, there wasn't really anyone who merited an offer last month.

Defensive Back

-Malik Antoine: Profile link
-Chacho Ulloa: Profile link
-Treyjohn Butler: Profile link
-David Long: Profile link*

-Edmonds and Antoine are committed, Treyjohn Butler announces August 14th, David Long is a summer decision, Chacho Ulloa could be early fall, though I'm not entirely sure about his decision timeline. So Stanford's DB class really could be wrapped up well in advance of Signing Day.

While I feel those are five are the most likely at this time, Stanford is still in touch with several other defensive backs.

-Andrew Pryts visited last month and the trip went well. He's a good fit and I wouldn't be shocked if Stanford was the choice. But distance is a real factor here, and the feeling is that it might be too much to overcome.

-Jordan Fuller is in a bit of a similar boat. The May Junior Day visit went well, but I ultimately think he'll opt to stay closer to home. But still contact, still a chance, so we'll see. I guess I'd say Pryts is slightly more likely, but I ultimately think both guys stay on the East Coast.

-Ikenna Okeke remains a possibility but I don't think Stanford is in the best position to ultimately sign him. He likes the program and could visit though, so we'll see. Jordan Griffin is hanging around but I have my doubts it will happen. Robbie Robinson is still in touch with Stanford but he hasn't really been doing what one would think a soon-to-be Stanford commit would do.

-There are still some very solid DB's who don't yet have offers but remain in the mix. Obi Eboh is a notable one who is very excited about the Cardinal.

*Long's recent public comments have all indicated that he wants to start off at cornerback, and Stanford would be fine with that. With Long's speed and ball skills, you need to get him on campus and go from there. But the possibility of him at least contributing on offense is still there, so he could be viewed as an athlete rather than strictly a CB.

Kicking specialist

-TBD

Final note

-Sounds like Quenton Meeks has been opening some eyes early in the summer workouts... Word is that Brennan Scarlett has looked terrific... the receivers/Casey Toohill/Bryce Love are a few others I've heard have impressed from an athleticism standpoint.
