Texas 2021 safety Caleb Ellis has committed to Stanford. Ellis has offers from several Ivy League schools, Army, Navy, Air Force, Northwestern, Duke and other schools that showed he had a serious interest in high academic schools.
I wasn’t expecting this commitment so soon. I’d heard after the Josh Moore commitment that Ellis was second behind Moore in level of interest in Stanford among the new safety offers. I like his film a lot. He’s a hitter and confident tackler and playmaker in space.
Stanford is now in a great place with its defensive back recruiting in this class. They’re still in contention for Jaden Slocum, Mitch Leigber and Kaleb Edwards. Leigber is my bet for the most likely fourth commit.
