The highest recruit we've ever had (although I think Brook Lopez as as high) and supposedly a one and done star. I was expecting him to be the go to guy and double covered most of the time so DaSilva, Davis and Jones would get open looks and Stanford would have a great offense. In game one against Alabama, he looked that way, leading the team in points and rebounds, going 3-5 from three, and beginning the season with an exciting win. In our last game, a disappointing last 10 minutes that took us from a 1 point lead to a 17 point loss, he was most visible in missing a slam dunk (granted, he was fouled and it wasn't called). Williams was 3-12 in his 34 minutes, missed his 2 shots in the last 10 minutes.

For the season so far, he's shooting 34% from the field, 28% from 3, and averaging 11.8 points/game in about 30 minutes/game. Any thoughts why he isn't yet the superstar we expected? Williams clearly is incredibly athletic and smooth, and shows tons of potential. For Stanford to be a more than one and out tourney team, Williams needs to do a lot more for the team. Is it a coaching issue not creating plays and movement to utilize his talent most effectively? Is it normal freshman problems of getting used to the speed of the college game?
