Things got off to a great start tonight for the Cardinal.

800 Free Relay:

Stanford takes the crown in tonight's only event, timed finals of the 800 FR.

Stanford 646.93
Michigan 650.03
kal 650.83, with 143 Neumann, Baker 142, McLaughlin 141, Bilquist 142.

All 4 Stanford swimmers were nails, and they did it without having to use Simone Manuel, who will anchor the MRs and swim somewhere on the 200 and 400 FR. Might lead off, go 2nd, or anchor.

Katie Drabot 142.99
Ella Eastin 141.13
Brooke Forde 142.94
Katie Ledecky 139.87

Top split was Louisville ace Mallory Comerford, who came from behind last year in the 200 to tie KL for the gold. Her split tonight (2nd leg) was 139.14.

Only 4 swimmers got to swim, they all did a PR (I think), and the team is 8 points up on kal after 1 event.

Individual events are worth 20-17-16-15-14-13-12-11 for the first 8 in the "A" final, and 9-7-6-5-4-3-2-1 for places 9-16 in the "B" final.

Tomorrow is 200 FR, 500 Free, 200 IM, 50 free, 1m diving, and 400 MR.

As long as no relay DQ's, Stanford should have a huge lead after Day 2.

Go Cardinal!!!
