I don't know if this was discussed on here, but it seems worthy of discussion. First of all, it has been reported that there were 23M streams of Dolphins-Chiefs Wild Card game. Has anyone seen these numbers?
How many subscribers Peacock had before the game and how many it had a couple days after? How many net new subscribers did Peacock get? Peacock reportedly paid $110M for the rights to make the game premium, so it would have needed to generate 18M months of subscriptions to break even.
Speaking for myself, we got a Peacock premium sub from our Instacart membership, so though I created a Peacock account to activate this already paid for subscription to watch the game, we can't count as a new subscriber as a result of that game, because we already had it. And, two of my friends who watched the game already had Peacock, so I wonder how many new subs they actually got.
