Lost 26-20 to Oregon tonight. The Ducks had Vernon Adams (and top WR Darren Carrington) back and looked better (though still not all that efficient), but the Husky defense seems legitimate. Not necessarily Stanford 2012-2014 caliber, but pretty darn good. They did lose star DE Travis Feeney to an injury late (not sure about his status for next week) and starting safety Brian Clay due to targeting; he'll be out for the first half next week. Considering their play this week against Cal/USC, I think they're probably a top two defense in the conference along with Utah.
Perhaps the biggest concern for UW is Jake Browning - not exactly sure what happened, but it looked like the training staff was working on his throwing shoulder late in the game. He did not come back out for UW's final series. So that will definitely be something to keep an eye on.
Overall, no matter which QB UW trots out there, the Huskies' offense doesn't look terribly imposing. The OL is not very good, skill position guys aren't game breakers (except for freshman RB Myles Gaskin), and Browning was a bit up and down. But good on defense, with the caveat that Oregon's OL/power run game is not anywhere close to Stanford's. So the Huskies will be tested in a very different way next Saturday than they were against Oregon. (USC did have some success running between the tackles; would imagine Stanford will look to replicate that.)
Would guess Stanford will be favored in the vicinity of 10-12 on Saturday. But it will be a good test for the Cardinal, I think.
