Yes, we’re going for 45 years of having won at least one NCAA team title. Since fall championships have been pushed back, we now are looking at 23 NCAA Division 1 championships taking place in the next 3 1/2 months! i'm Here’s looking at most likely teams to make it 45 years by date.

March 15 – Men and Women’s XC. Men and women are ranked #4 and both came off of dominating wins at the Pac-12 (11). Running together and peaking at the right time are keys and both squads seem to be ready. The men's 10K course is a lot trickier than the one at the P-12 championships which was 5 laps of a 2 K loop with part of the course going in the opposite direction in the second loop. In previous years, there was a preseason race at the champion site, but with covid, not this year so teams that are familiar with the OK State course are going to have an edge. https://okstate.com/documents/2020/10/1//XC_course_10K_map_2020.pdf?id=24558

March 17- 20. Women’s Swimming & Diving. Although Stanford placed second in the P-12, it’ll be difficult for them to get a podium at the finals. The women lost two top swimmers who are deferring enrollment until next year to prepare for the Olympic trials and the great Katie Ledecky who turned pro. Diving is taking place March 8-10 an Women’s 1 M is in the books and Stanford earned 26 points towards the Swimming and Diving championships.

March 21- Men’s water polo at USC. Stanford is a #1 seed and will face winner of California Baptist- UCLA in the semis. On the other side of the bracket is Kal and USC. The only other league to win a water polo championship (3 of them), Golden Coast, opted out of playing this season. The last championship, we beat Golden Coast champ Pacific. This could be the first one to keep our streak going if one the XC teams falter.

March 24-27. Men’s Swimming & Diving. The men also finished 2nd to Kal at the P-12 meet and Texas and Kal are favored at the championships. Diving is also taking place March 8-10 and the Men had the 3 M finals where Conor Casey and Noah Vigran finished 1-2 to earn Stanford 39 points. So with diving, we can at least say we’re leading in both the Men’s and Women’s swimming & diving.

April 2-4 Women's Basketball Final Four. All ‘regionals’ will be played in San Antonio. Selection Monday on March 14. ESPN has us as the overall #1 seed in their bracket and is currently #1 in NET rankings. As pointed out in other posts, we still have plenty of room to improve yet winning by double digits. It'll interesting to see how the brackets are filled on the 14th.

April 16-17. Men’s Gymnastics. Defending champs but getting off to a slow start. Ranked 4th best on average of last three events and scored their season highest missing two of their top guys. Akiddoc also said on a different thread that we had two that competed in their first event last weekend and that even without Loos, our best gymnast in the lineup, we had the 3rd highest score this season. Fortunately the team has 5 weeks to get ready.

April 22-24. Women’s Volleyball. The team is young and hurt and probably won’t even make the tournament, but they’re the defending champs. I think they’re using this spring to get ready for the fall season. They don’t even have enough players to practice and only 8 are suiting up for matches. I think this is the first time in a long, long time that we were bit even ranked, but didn't get any votes in the latest poll.

May 13-17. Women’s Soccer College Cup. Selection takes place 4/18. We’re ranked #23 post Macario, but we're still defending champs for now.

May 13-17 Men’s Soccer College Cup. Selection takes place 4/19. Men currently ranked #3 and 4-0 early in the season. Can coach Gunn get us back to the cup and start another string?

May 14-16. Women’s Water Polo. It’s the big three with Stanford, UCLA and USC having won all of the previous championships. Stanford is ranked #2 so far but lost to ASU #5 before drilling them the next day.

May 20-29. Women’s Tennis, The women are 4-0 so far. ITA rankings are all algorithm based and has them at #28! We have 4 of our 6 back from the team that won the 2019 NCAAs. Unlike the last season they played, they're winning all of the doubles matches. The team is 4-0 and is 28-0 in sets played. Right, they’re ranked #28.

May 21-26. Women’s Golf. Women ranked #11 so far. The best player per WAGR ranking, Angelina Ye at #14 followed by Aline Krauter at #27 and neither of them have been the Stanford medalist in three tournaments so far. They have the talent and next fall, we have WAGR #1 Rose Zhang coming.

May 28-30 Rowing. Stanford Women’s Lightweight Rowing is ranked #1 and has won the past 5 national championships. Their reward was being one of 11 sports cut.

June 19-30. Baseball College World Series. We’re not ranked although we are 7-1 against Santa Clara and USF.

So we have 9 teams that are capable of winning their championship.
