Before everyone, including the voters, gets too excited about Utah:
Last year, Utah beat Stanford and UCLA on the road, and USC in Utah, wins that make Utah look like a top ten team. So why weren’t they?
Because the Utes lost at home to Washington State (27-28), Oregon (27-51), and Arizona (10-42), and on the road against ASU (16-19).
And they squeaked out wins against Oregon State (29-23) and a horrid Colorado team (38-34), as well as against the three teams above—by a total of eight points.
As a result, the Utes were a combined -42 in Pac 12 play, with five wins by a total of 18 points, and four losses by a total of 60.
I'd start taking their opponents and the points for the next couple weeks. . .
