Other than a few hundred hopelessly loyal fans - I'm one of them - nobody gives a shit about this program. Nobody. And it's going to get worse.

Back in 2006 there were still some devout football fans. Bill Walsh was here. But if we're being honest, the reality is, the vast majority of Stanford football fans have matriculated to the big farm in the sky. The fans that are left aren't getting any younger nor are they being replaced. The last couple generations of Stanford grads who live in the area have no interest in football. If anybody would like to challenge me on that, actually come to a game and look around the stands. Pathetic!

None of the administration care (save Condi). Does Tessier-Lavigne come to games? Has Persis Drell ever been to a game? Kid yourself into thinking there can be a Harbaugh 2.0 resurrection. There won't be.

Many of us grew loving Stanford football. There were some damn good times. Problem is, there's nobody coming behind us. How much longer should the university keep a respirator and a feeding tube on a dead program?
