Seems like we get into a *lot* of trouble running on 2nd and long, usually right after a failed first-down run.
I won’t have access to a laptop ‘til at least Sunday night, so I can’t do even a cursory analysis ‘til then — but I bet we 1) gain very few yards on our average 2nd-and-long run (esp relative to NCAA average) and 2) punt on almost all of our possessions following a 2nd-and-long run.
I bet we also *call* a run on 2nd and long at a much higher rate than the national average.
We should maybe give some thought to stopping.
