Rector clearly served a 1/2 game suspension yesterday, most likely the continuation or conclusion of the discipline he received during training camp. That was obvious to me and every other observer when the 2 deep was released. And yet, Shaw still will not say that he suspended him. After a steady diet of 'no comment' all week, a reporter asked about it during yesterday's post game. Shaw's response: "That was our plan to play Michael in the second half".

WTF is this about? As Head Football Coach, Shaw is well within his rights to suspend a player if he deems it necessary. He doesn't need to explain what happened or justify his decision to the media or anyone outside the program. But should announce that decision, or at least respond honestly when asked about it. Instead of this "that was our plan" nonsense, why not just say "we sat Michael for the 1st Half for violating team rules during camp"?

Does anyone know what Rector's status is going forward? Is the discipline over or can we expect more PT restrictions next week. I guess we'll need to wait for the UCF 2 deep to find out...
