Obviously the NIT does not share the prestige/visibility/interest of the NCAA Tournament, but still a pretty neat accomplishment for Chasson Randle tonight as he passed Todd Lichti for No. 1 on Stanford's all-time scoring list. Also nice for Chasson to conclude his career with a strong run in this tournament after he struggled so mightily down the stretch of the regular season.

As for Stanford's 67-60 victory over Old Dominion in tonight's NIT semifinal matchup, it was kind of a strange game. Stanford jumped out to a 21-point first half lead, ODU controlled the middle portion of the game, but Stanford did enough down the stretch to advance to the NIT Finals against Miami on Thursday.

In addition to scoring a game-high 24 points (and managing to stay in the game and productive despite playing with four fouls for a good chunk of the second half), Randle hit the shot of the night. With a minute and change left, Stanford led 61 - 59 and had possession. Randle had the ball with the shot clock running down, drove to his left and hit a really difficult 12-foot floater to give Stanford a four-point lead. They hit their free throws down the stretch and earned the victory.

Stefan Nastic added 17 points (5-9 shooting, 7-8 from the line), and Anthony Brown 14 (3-5 field goal, 5-6 FT). Marcus Allen chipped in eight points and Reid Travis four. No one else on the Cardinal roster scored.

Michael Humphrey returned from a multi-game absence due to a sprained ankle, though he only played three minutes.

Here's the recap from Stanford Athletics.
