Since it has been slow around here, I thought I'd ask a question for you folks to enlighten me about.

In another thread Andy was talking about the responsibilities of the QCC guys, which plays in here.

What are the in game responsibilities of each of the coaches, including the graduate assistants and the quality control coaches? Where is each guy physically situated? How are discussions held and decisions made? After the decision is made, how is it communicated?

For example, assume Stanford has the ball on our opponent's 41 with 4th and 2 to go. Is there a dialogue about whether to go for it? Or does one person, I guess that would be either Shaw or Anderson, make the decision? Then, how do the players get told? Would have to be one person to signal the team to stay on the field and another to tell the kicking team not to come out, right?

But, further, what if it is a fake punt. Who's going to figure out what personnel should be in, who will carry the ball, what hole they'll attack and what the blocking scheme should be?

No wonder we have delay of game penalties. Seems impossible to get all this sorted out in the time allotted.

Can anyone bring clarity to this issue for me? Thanks.
