Didn't see this posted before, so thought I would post.
There's been a lot of shuffling at the CONCACAF tournament for Wold cup qualifications for the women so wasn't surprised that I didn't see Macario and Press. Then there was an article about the number of black women on the team with a few of them from Stanford. That's when I read that both Press and Macario had ACL tears playing for their professional teams. Both happened last month with Macario going down in early June and Press about a week later. World Cup doesn't begin until August 2023 so plenty of time to rehab. The big issue for Press is she'll be 35 next year and there are a lot of talented forwards on the USWNT.
Hope both of them recover quickly.
The women are playing in the CONCACAF semis against Costa Rica and on the other side is Canada vs Jamaica. All four clinched Wold Cup berths and the champion gets an automatic entry to the Paris Olympics and 2024 Gold Cup.
