Divisions will be going away (they'll be in place for 2022), but going forward including 2022, the Pac-12 championship game will be played among the two teams with the best overall winning percentage regardless of division. The article includes a breakdown of how things would have been under this new system. Stanford for example would have played in the Pac-12 championship game in 2011 against Oregon. There would have been two more times they faced off. Thoughts on this format? I think it makes sense to just have the best two teams in the conference duke it out for the title game.
