A bit more clarity on the Scarlett situation:
I am now hearing all hurdles have been crossed and Stanford is just awaiting a final decision from Brennan. There are a few other programs aside from Stanford (i.e. Notre Dame, possibly Vanderbilt, possibly others) involved in his recruitment, but you have to like the Cardinal's chances at this point.
I do not know, however, when Brennan will come to/announce a final decision. Don't think there's any real timeline on it, and probably not a huge rush, either. (Stanford has scholarship available, Brennan is enrolled at Cal through May.) But I can't imagine it would take him too much longer.
