2023 4-star wide receiver Rashid Williams caught up with me tonight about his visit to Stanford over the weekend. He was down to do a full interview, which is awesome! Below are key quotes. The rest will be saved for the article.
"The visit was cool. My 3rd time being on campus including the camp I went to and junior day. The highlight was the Game. It was crazy."-On the visit.
"Yes I did [get to celebrate with the team], at the end of the game after overtime I stormed the field along with the rest of the student section. The experience of it was nothing like I have ever been apart of. It was crazy to see the players up close and personal and it was a great feeling. It made me feel like I was actually apart of the team."-On the post-game experience.
"I’d say Stanford’s main message to me and what I can bring to the table is that I can run fast, great route running, patients in my routes, and the biggest one in my opinion is I can catch the ball."-On Stanford's pitch to him.
"It appeals to me a lot. I know how much of a prestigious school Stanford is and it carries a huge name behind all the sports and academic advantages it has."-On Stanford's academic appeal.
"It would be great honestly! I would be able to drive back home on my days off and spend a day or 2 with family and friends. Also my family would be able to go to every home game since it is about an hour and 30 minutes away. Some friends as well."-On staying close to home.
"I would say Mississippi State, Arizona, Oregon State, Cal, and Utah are on me the hardest right now."-On who else is on him the hardest.
"I’m thinking of committing to a school before senior year starts and I’ll make that decision after talking it over with my family!"-On a decision timeline.
