Caught up with four-star OLB Keith Simms to discuss his trip. Pretty clear the direction this one is currently headed - sure sounds like he's strongly considering a commitment sooner than later.
Also, I didn't include it in the story, but thought folks here might enjoy his response to my question about the differences between his trips to Stanford and Cal. (He visited Cal on Sunday, Stanford Friday/Saturday.)
"I guess it was different because it was like a one-on-one visit for me at Cal, but I felt at Stanford there was a bond among the players, the coaches, a real family feel. Not that I didn't feel it at Cal, but I think I didn't feel it as strong. Obviously they both have nice campuses and stuff but I felt like Stanford was more of what I was looking for.
"But, I mean, I have a good relationship with both of the coaches. But I just really hard a great time, so it was tough to beat my time at Stanford, for sure. Just in terms of the program - I feel like Stanford's kind of pioneered some of the things that are going on in football, and i feel like some of the other schools, such as Cal, some of the other schools that I've visited, kind of try to mimic that. Stanford doesn't really try to change their program to make it like anyone else. I really liked when they talked about that at the meeting. A lot of the other schools, they go and say, 'Oh, everything like's Stanford, like this, like that.' So it kind of stood out to me when Coach Shaw said that in that meeting."
