So I've probably tried Jeffrey 10 or so times over the past many months and have never reached him before tonight. I'll have a full update posted shortly, but he was pretty darn positive about the Cardinal. He noted that it has the best combination of academics and athletics of any school in the country (which, while a widespread view, is notable in light of his recent trip to Notre Dame, which strives to make the same argument). And perhaps most critically, he has submitted his application - he said it's currently in the mail.
It's still a little bit tough to get a grasp of Jeffrey's recruitment. He has offers from basically everyone in the country and is a rare, elite talent. And much of the conversation has centered around the local schools. But between his comments + the fact that he has submitted the application, it sure sounds like Stanford is at least in the mix here. And I'll try to do some additional digging in the coming weeks - Jeffrey will make his decision in early January.
An OLB class of McCulloch and Curtis Robinson (and Jordan Fox) would be among the very best in the nation an would set the Cardinal up quite well heading into future seasons.
