After Lucky 13, it was unlucky 13. The Cardinal got a wake up call facing #1 USC then #2 UCLA. USC has it all: an Olympian, numerous foreign players, graduate transfers, and fans fleeing football.
The Trojans came out aggressively, threw the first punch, and Stanford did not respond well. SC “won” the first half 9-3, and Stanford “won” the 2nd half 10-6. Unfortunately, that’s not how the game is played.
In the 3/4 game, UCLA simply wore down the Cardinal - as the #2 seed, UCLA received a bye and played one less game heading into the match.
Onward and upward! Many positive takeaways, and based on my experience - for some reason, players listen to coaches after losses 😉
Off to UCSB this weekend, and then the MPSF begins!
