a pretty darn good day. (OK, I know some of my internet friends don't give a darn about the "minor/olympic/non-revenue" sports, but some do, and I do, so what the heck;
1. We crushed, destroyed, eviscerated SC's baseball team 3 days in a row. I guess SC has been down in baseball recently, but I go back to the days when Rod Dedeaux (sic) won 5 or was it 6 NCs in a row, so beating them in base ball is still an excellent result to me. And destroying USC in ANYTHING is always a cause for celebration.
2. Our softball team crushed Alabama, breaking their 44 game win streak in NCAA regional competition. Also the 1st time they've been shut out this season, and the first time they've been shut out in the regional round since 2004. And any thrashing of Alabama is GREAT. I haven't forgotten or forgiven being screwed by Alabama in the basketball NCAAs in 1992.
3. Our lady golfers a comfortable in the lead after 2 days of stroke play in the nationals, despite 1 of our 3 best players inexplicably missing and another just (hopefully) getting back in form. We are in very good shape to make match play where, as last year shows, any thing can happen.
All in all, a pretty outstanding day.
