I am not a coach or player, just a fan. To be more specific, I am a Stanford fan and a Hogan fan.
It seems to me that Hogan had a much maligned windup where he dropped his hand too much. That added time to his release. He seemed very comfortable with his mechanics for 2 years. Before last year, the coaching staff tried to change his mechanics, and his throw looked awful to me. At the end of the season, he got more loose, started running more, and dropped his arm a little on the windup. It was as if he was told to throw the way he is comfortable.
This game, he has had a quick pull back, and it looks like he pushes the ball out toward his target. As a result, he has a wobbly inaccurate throw.
Am I correct, or am I missing something.
