So Patrick has had an AC joint issue on one shoulder for most of the season. Last week, some how, he hurt the other AC joint as well, so now has two AC joint issues, the newer one apparently worse the older one.

He has not practiced in a while, and gets a cortisone shot to play.

So big game last night, everyone is amped up, homecoming, whiteout, etc.

Patrick suits up, goes to the doc 20 minutes before game time to get his shot (maybe 2, dont know how that works, one for each shoulder?), Doc puts him through some AC joint protocols, and says, no, not giving you a shot, you cant play.

Patrick is frustrated, and Johnson is NOT happy.

As a father of a football player, I am very happy that we have a check on an adrenaline filled kid, and a coach paid millions to win football games making these decisions.

Having said that, imagine how much pressure these doctors are under to conform to what the coaches want?

Very easy to get caught up in the energy, and very easy also to get fired for making the "wrong" choice too often. Not suggesting that happens, but it also wouldn't surprise me.
