I know there has been some speculation about moving Fanaika to DL in light of Phillips' injury. (And even prior to that, really.) I asked Shaw about it this evening after practice.
"We're not there yet. And I hope we won't be there because we think he has a very, very bright future on the offensive line. I can't say it hasn't been discussed because it's been discussed since we started recruiting him. We've got a couple of those guys, that both sides of the ball would love to have them. He's pretty well trained right now on the offensive line. He would be starting from ground zero on the defensive line. If we had an emergency of course we would have to consider it. But I think he's very comfortable . I think he's gaining confidence right now. Because he has a chance to be extremely good on the offensive line, so we'll see how it goes."
